The PPC Surge Wing – developed by Sam Loader and his team in New Zealand, is a balanced powerhouse. The word surge means “a sudden powerful forward or upward movement” and is no coincidence!
With its flat profile and the small diameter of the leading edge tube, the Surge is very stiff and offers plenty of performance – a very fast wing with plenty of lift. The drop down in the center strut gives it balanced and neutral flight characteristics – when “airing” on the wave or during a maneuver, the Surge follows neutrally and requires little control.
A lot of attention has been paid to the placement of the four grips – with the stiff setup, handling is a pleasure and finding the grips after a maneuver becomes a matter of course in no time.
If required, a harness rope can be attached to the center strut; pig tails are available for this purpose.
The high-quality construction made of Japanese Teijin canvas and German Polyant-Dacron prevents the Surge from absorbing water and thus increasing its weight.
