The premiere of the 10th anniversary of the International Ocean Film Tour took place in the Laeiszhalle in Hamburg on 05.03.2024. We were invited and would like to thank the Ocean Film Tour team for this and for an unforgettable evening! It was a fantastic event, with many of the main protagonist on stage. The premiere is the tour kick-off of the International Ocean Film Tour Vol. 10. in many German cities you can see the movie in the next few weeks. You can find dates here: https://de.oceanfilmtour.com/de/tickets.
This year’s Ocean Film includes the following short films and is a firework of impressions, emotions, marine protection, activism, deep insights and much more:
Older Than Trees – James Lea researches sharks and rays and reports on his research and great successes in establishing marine protected areas.
Ice Mermaid – Melissa Kegler is an ice swimmer from Seattle and attempts the record 2.2 km ice swim at 5°C water temperature! Simple crazy, as she says herself!
Born to Windsurf – The life’s work of windsurfing legend Björn Dunkerbeck and his record attempt of 100 km/h on a windsurfing board. It’s amazing what Björn has won in his career: 42 world championship titles!
The Return to Antarctica – Captain Peter Hammarstedt and Sea Shephard Global are back in the Antarctic to expose illegal krill fishing and put the fishing industry in its place. Sea Shephard’s successes show once again how much activism can make a difference.
Havana Libre – Surfing was illegal in Cuba until recently. Frank Gonzales Guerra, his wife and friends give a deep and beautiful insight of the surf culture in Cuba and show their fight for the legalization of surfing there.
We are very happy to have been there and absolutely stoked about all the movies!!! Quickly check the dates in your city and buy a ticket – it’s 100% worth it!
