Would you like to combine surf & work? Then you are in the right place: The Endless Summer, the feeling of happiness and joy while surfing in perfect waves. It’s a feeling of freedom and adventure, an insatiable urge to travel the world and make the most out of the surfing adventure every day. It’s a feeling of unity and connection with nature and the world, and the joy of the small yet significant moments of life. It’s a feeling of peaceful reverence for the sea and the life it harbors. It is a feeling of being in harmony with nature and oneself that connects surfers.
The question arises as to how the idea of being financially and geographically independent can be put into practice. To travel, to go surfing whenever and wherever one pleases, and to live the ‘Endless Summer’.
The dream of financial independence is absolutely possible with the right strategy. In terms of optimizing one’s finances and geographic freedom, many new avenues have opened up in recent years.
Like almost everyone who lives their life with surfing in mind, the Stoked Zone team has given a lot of thought to how to achieve the goal of maximum freedom.
The advantages of location-independent work have been recognized by many companies by now, and they are increasingly promoting it. The transformation of the working world, as well as the trust that has since emerged among leaders in individuals’ ability to deliver the same, and even better, results from home, have established this working model.
One must mention beforehand that there aren’t equal opportunities to work remotely in every area of the job market. However, if surfing or lifestyle is your top priority, there is nothing to stop you from reorienting yourself professionally and breaking new ground.
Most jobs, which incidentally are often paid above average, are in the IT sector. There is also demand in customer support and in content and video creation for topics that require explanation, for example.
You can, among other things, professionally write blogs or operate your own blog page, get into affiliate marketing, work in another creative field, or start your own business. The entrepreneurial sector in particular seems like a closed book to many, where only privileged, well-heeled or particularly talented people find a place. This perception already emerges during school time, and we should ask the legitimate question: Why are there no subjects specifically promoting entrepreneurship and providing fundamental knowledge such as, for example, how to create a business plan? How can I access funding? How do you distribute company shares among founders?
Of course, we would like to take this opportunity to point out the possibilities that the Stoked Zone platform offers you. Here you can offer your services as a surf instructor or surf guide, for example. Or lend or sell your own equipment, which you may no longer need or rarely use, without having to operate your own internet presence. Even hobby shapers can easily offer their masterpieces for sale.
How did we come to associate investments with surfing? Well, the issue is to achieve maximum freedom in order to be able to surf as much as possible, among other things. This means taking advantage of investment opportunities and planning for the long term at an early stage. That also means to keep an eye out for a, initially perhaps small, property – of course, in an area that offers the best possible surfing conditions.
Over ten years ago, something began that has the potential to bring us closer to independence. We are talking about blockchain-based projects such as Bitcoin, which many people are probably already familiar with. The underlying idea is fascinating and you should keep an eye on it. Which projects one should hold shares of is something that everyone must determine for themselves, or thoroughly study the topic. It could become a “One In A Lifetime Opportunity” if you do it right. Of course, one should not disregard other investment opportunities. It is important, especially for the younger ones among us, to deal with these often complicated topics in a timely manner and not to lose focus on freedom. The best thing is not to return to your comfort zone until you are sure that your plans are developing well.
Furthermore, there is the possibility of tax optimization. Many will already be rolling their eyes at this term, as we’re on a surfing platform here. Let’s not forget that we want to maintain our surf lifestyle for as long as possible.
Did you know that as a digital nomad, in the best case scenario, you don’t pay any taxes at all? Yes, it is possible and completely legal. Basically, it’s about following the Flag-Theory, which means securing long-term individual financial and geographical independence.
